Chase Iacono - Valedictorian
A standout in the classroom and in the construction bay for the last 4 years. He has a career weighted GPA of 3.94. In addition to what he is being recognized for this evening, he has earned the 2022 Civic Leadership Award, the 2022 Superintendent’s Award for Academics, Honor Roll, and Excellence awards for Civil Law and Health/Physical Education. Though Chase has been an outstanding construction student, Chase plans to pursue auto mechanics after graduation – a trade he fell in love with while working at Passport Automotive. We appreciate Chase for his work ethic, his wisdom beyond his years, and his curmudgeonly spirit, which lovingly earned him the nickname of “Old Man.” We know the future is bright for Chase.
Jynessa Ferreira - Salutarian
Her determination and motivation for success have earned her the #2 spot in the class with a weighted career GPA of 3.78. After receiving several college acceptances, she is attending Rhode Island College this fall where she plans to study Biology. Jynessa has a love of animals, a huge heart and a strong work ethic, all of which will serve her well as she pursues her dream of becoming a veterinarian. Jynessa balances her academics, a part-time job, community service, and outside classes through Mystic Aquarium for Animal Health and Veterinary Science with ease. During her senior year, Jynessa took on the role of President of Student Council and facilitated numerous school activities. In addition to what she is being recognized for this evening, Jynessa has consistently earned Honor Roll, and has earned Excellence awards for English and Biology. The future is bright for Jynessa.
Kailey Mater - #3
She transferred to NEL’s this year after completing her 9th-11th grade years at Cranston High School West. Kailey will attend the Community College of RI in the fall to study Psychology. After earning her Associate’s degree, Kailey plans to transfer to Roger Williams University to pursue further studies. Kailey is a dedicated, kind and caring student who carries a career weighted GPA of 3.06. The future is bright for Kailey.
