Polish President Andrzej Duda sent a congratulatory message to his French counterpart on France's National day on Tuesday.
"I am convinced that close cooperation in the spirit of trust and mutual understanding can bring us closer to a common goal, namely, the development of prosperity of our states and societies of a united Europe," the Polish head of state wrote to President Emmanuel Macron.
"On behalf of the Polish people and from myself, let me convey to you sincere wishes on the National Day of the French Republic," Duda said, adding that Poland and France were linked by centuries-long ties of friendship and good cooperation.
"I believe that the recent visit you paid to Poland will contribute to the further strengthening of partnership relations between our countries," the president wrote. He also expressed his conviction that the necessity of European cooperation - marked by solidarity - for the building of a strong and safe Europe, which meets the needs of its citizens, is strongly visible, especially today, during the global fight against the pandemic," the Polish president stated.
President Duda also extended wishes of health and prosperity to his French counterpart and the French people.
Bastille Day is celebrated on July 14 and marks the birth of the French Republic. It is the National Day of France.
