From Dan Fouts to Marcus Mariota, a bevy of legendary Oregon Ducks quarterbacks contributed video clips to congratulate Justin Herbert on Thursday as Herbert moved on to the pro ranks with the Los Angeles Chargers as the No. 6 pick in the 2020 NFL draft.
The Ducks spliced together the clips and posted them to Twitter shortly after Herbert’s selection.
Fouts, who also played for the Chargers, calls Herbert’s Rose Bowl performance against Wisconsin “awesome” and says he knows Herbert will make his grandfather and Fouts’ friend, the late Rich Schwab, very proud.
“Keep killin’ it. God bless and Go Ducks!” Vernon Adams Jr. says.
“Welcome to the club,” says Chris Miller, who was a first-round NFL draft pick in 1987. Miller adds: “Make sure you enjoy the journey, because it goes fast, man.”
“Your work has now just begun,” Joey Harrington says in offering his congratulations.
“Just continue to be Herbert,” Akili Smith says.
“Enjoy this journey, enjoy tonight and congratulations,” Marcus Mariota says.
The video also includes messages from Dennis Dixon and Kellen Clemens.
