Congratulations Kiah Morris! I applaud you in your latest strategy to tackle racial issues from a grassroots angle. Your story has helped me understand the true heroism of your crusade. I am so pleased to call you a fellow Vermonter.
As a longtime resident of this state I have grown weary of the lack of racial representation. As an aspiring businessman I welcome the notion of more diversity. I believe diversity will undoubtedly bring innovation and quality work ethic. I think it is the responsibility of business leaders to act accordingly in removing ignorance from the ranks of their employees. This is crucial in creating prosperity in a vibrant private economy that safely operates within our natural beauty.
It is unfortunate that we still have much work in fighting discrimination. The creation of technology has led to a nuisance of noisy bigotry that has pushed violent attitudes and actions. It is so important that the many more people who believe in diversity are heard over the annoying whine of stupidity. Those that believe in the truth of equality can become much louder in their voices of reason.
I optimistically believe society can evolve past the disgraceful history of discrimination that clings to our modern culture. It is a lack of intellectual development, among some stubborn individuals, that furthers the struggle in defeating racism. It is only a matter of time before those people realize how lonely they are becoming. For certain, that time cannot come soon enough, but I am convinced that the furthering of communication and education can end the disturbing voices of the ignorant. Vermont can and should be a model of acceptance for the world. Ms. Morris, your heroism, bravery, and strength should not be underestimated in your fight for these important issues.
The new position will involve working through the nonprofit organization Rights and Democracy Vermont, which is an association I have not been familiar with till now. I am so glad to be further educated through your story. The coverage of these events has certainly led to my own enlightenment. I look forward to hearing new ideas about bringing the diversity so many Vermonters crave. Ms. Morris, you have definitely furthered understanding about racial issues already. I expect you will have a strong career making progress on that front.
I want to welcome you here personally, and reinforce the positive experiences I am sure you have had with most Vermonters. Not only am I intrigued by your recent grassroots strategy, but I want to stress how accepted your politics is here. Not because I necessarily agree with it, but because any reasonable opinion is allowed in our arena of ideas. That is how we create progress; through healthy, vibrant, respectful debate and discussion.
Thank you for your heroism, Ms. Morris, your presence as our neighbor is much appreciated.
