Congratulations to Preservation Society Trustee Bill Hatfield for winning Grow Smart Rhode Island’s prestigious Outstanding Smart Growth Leader award. Hatfield, Market President at Bank of America, has been singled out for his leadership on community revitalization. He’s known for his work on the state historic tax credit program, affordable housing, the restoration of distressed neighborhoods and the rejuvenation of downtowns and Main Streets.
Hatfield will receive the award at Grow Smart’s Power of Place Summit on Friday, March 27, at the Rhode Island Convention Center. This all-day conference is a must for anyone interested in exploring fresh ways to create a more vibrant Rhode Island. There are fantastic panels throughout the day and speeches by leaders like Gov. Gina Raimondo and Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza.
The keynote luncheon speaker is the Washington Post’s E.J. Dionne Jr. His speech is “Finding Common Ground Among Those with Differing Views Remains Our Only Hope, Whether It’s for Smarter Growth or the Future of Our Nation.”
