I am indeed proud to take this opportunity to congratulate Karl and Faye Rodney together with the dedicated staff of New York Carib News on their entry into the Digital media.
I have been associated with this institution for almost 30 years and can attest to its dedication in providing a serious voice for our Caricom Community and beyond.
Apart from its vigilance on matters affecting the New York and Ti-State diaspora, Carib News also took time to focus on the exposure of the varied Cultural treasures of the Caribbean.
The success of the West Indian-American Labor-day Carnival was due in part for the professional support rendered at the time when such attention was scarce. Carib News can be proud of having sponsored one
of Trinidad & Tobago’s major Steel bands which performed from Bryant Park to the World Trade Center to the wonderment of those who were experiencing for the first time, the only musical instrument to be invented in the 20th Century.
Perhaps one of the most important accomplishments of Karl and Faye Rodney was the successful hosting of their Annual Multi-National Business Conferences which was held from Panama and throughout the Caricom, Nations resulted in a tremendous and significant infusion of Business ventures and enhancement of Social services in those participating Nations.
These important calendar events were always graced by important business contacts along with members of the Congressional Black Caucus, many of whom were experiencing disciplined management of many countries who had recently become independent of the United Kingdom.
I believe that everyone doing business in our community should consider the support of this unique voice as a most serious obligation to ensure its perpetuation.
Perhaps we should expand our relationship by becoming “Friends of Carib News” Congratulations is further extended to the new face of the Newspaper which presents a greater expansion of News and Social coverage together with an enhanced format that provides easier reading and access to selected subject matters.
