Well, you’ve made it.
It’s been 12 long years, but you’re just days away from graduation.
You did it.
Congratulations, seniors, you’ve earned it.
Now, the whole world is before you.
Do good things with it.
Have fun, but not too much fun. If you head off to college (and we think you should, or to a trade training program), study hard, but not too hard. Learn always, no matter what you do. Plan, but make room for spontaneity. Find joy in the simple things, but hold on to joy when things get complicated, too. Work hard at whatever you do, but try to do something that doesn’t feel like work.
You don’t have to know now what you want to do with your life, but you should have some ideas. You still have plenty of time to iron it out.
Don’t let anybody tell you who you are. You decide who you are, and then embrace that person.
Always tell the truth. Act with integrity.
The last 12 years, you’ve laid the foundation for your adulthood. Now, you lay the foundations for the rest of your life. So try not to make bad choices, but own up to them when you do.
Listen to advice, but ultimately make your own decisions.
