As if Brendan Gallagher signing an extension with the Montreal Canadiens wasn't enough, he also got a special message from a player on his favorite football team.
Gallagher is a huge Cincinnati Bengals fan and on Saturday, the Canadiens posted a video message to the forward from running back Joe Mixon.
"We know how big of a Bengals fan you are, so we just wanted to say congratulations on the new deal," Mixon said. "I know exactly what it's like to get the bag and how it's feeling, man, so just wanted to say congratulations and Who Dey."
The Canadiens on Wednesday signed Gallagher to a six-year, $39 million contract extension ($6.5 million average annual value) that lasts through the 2026-27 season.
And Mixon, as he referenced, can relate. He signed four-year, $48 million contract extension with the Bengals in September.
Gallagher, naturally, tweeted his excitement about hearing from Dixon.
