It was back in the mid-1990s when a young man appeared in our newsroom at the Exeter Times-Advocate. He was going to work and save money to go to teachers’ college.
I remember his positive attitude, his professionalism, and his kindness especially when it came to always being there for others. Ray Lewis is a teacher, a coach and a great guy.
When I read the story about him receiving the Field Hockey Canada Grassroots award it was fantastic to see him mention another great guy, coach Jim Workman of Exeter.
To everyone who knows Ray now, and back then like the T-A’s Deb Lord does (Ray was a pretty good athlete himself), I know you all agree he deserves everything in this world he works for. All the best, Ray (miss having our chats at your dad’s bar).
