Missouri Colleges Fund, Inc. is pleased to congratulate outgoing President Mike Backer on his 16-year career funding student scholarships for thousands of students attending our Missouri four-year private institutions. Mike’s impressive track record includes raising over $8.7 in scholarships. “We want to thank Mike for his incredible commitment and service to our mission. His legacy formulated educational opportunities that impacted the lives of many students and their families,” said Kris Lensmeyer, Chair of the Board of MCF.
We are also pleased to announce Susan Stegeman as our next President. Susan comes to us with extensive nonprofit and fundraising experience at Special Olympics Missouri where she was responsible for leading the development efforts for 28 years and most recently served as their President/CEO. “We are excited to find someone with such vast experience and personal qualifications to continue the support of private higher education in Missouri, “said Kris Lensmeyer, Chair of the Board. Susan will begin her new duties on February 1, 2022.
This transition plan ensures the continuance of the highest quality of care and service our donors and member institutions have come to expect in our 70 year history.
