Queen Elizabeth, Kate Middleton, and Other Royals Congratulate Emma Raducanu on U.S. Open Victory - TownandCountrymag.com

On Saturday, British teenager Emma Raducanu stunned tennis fans around the world, as she won the U.S. Open. Previously ranked 150th in the world, 18-year-old Raducanu beat Canadian Leylah Fernandez in the women's singles final, winning the U.S. Open without dropping a single set. In honor of Raducanu's outstanding performance, the British royal family sent a slew of congratulatory messages to the teenage tennis star.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, shared a personal message on Twitter, praising both Raducanu and Fernandez. She signed the note with a "C," indicating the tweet came directly from her.

"Huge congratulations @EmmaRaducanu on your stunning performances and historic Grand Slam victory! Incredible –we are all so proud of you. @LeylahFernandez well done on your amazing achievements at this year’s #USOpen, it’s been a pleasure to watch. C," the Duchess tweeted.

Queen Elizabeth shared her own message to Raducanu on the royal family's website. She, too, signed the note personally, writing her trademark "Elizabeth R."

"I send my congratulations to you on your success in winning the United States Open Tennis Championships. It is a remarkable achievement at such a young age, and is testament to your hard work and dedication," the Queen wrote. "I have no doubt your outstanding performance, and that of your opponent Leylah Fernandez, will inspire the next generation of tennis players. I send my warmest good wishes to you and your many supporters."

In an interview with BBC, Raducanu reacted to the Queen's message, thanking the monarch for the kind note.

"It meant everything to get a message from Her Majesty. She’s such a great inspiration and role model for the whole country so to have a note from her," she said. "I was extremely honored and very very grateful that she took notice of my tennis. I can’t believe it. I’m maybe going to frame that letter or something."

Not to be left out, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, tweeted another congratulatory message for Raducanu and Fernandez. They included plenty of emojis in their note, adding a British flag, a Canadian flag, and a tennis ball. The post also featured a photograph of Raducanu during the match.

"Congratulations to @EmmaRaducanu that was a remarkable game of tennis and what a journey over these last three weeks," she wrote. "Thank you for inspiring us with your smiles and joy on the court."
