Everyone Congratulated Patrick Kane on 1,000 Games - bleachernation.com

While the action and outcome on the ice for Patrick Kane’s 1,000th career NHL game was pretty lackluster, there was plenty of celebrating to do off the ice. Patrick Kane was honored by his teammates prior to the game and by the Dallas Stars during the first break in the first period.

I mean, it’s not as fun to have to honor a player on the road, so I appreciate the Stars’ effort. An away game standing ovation for Kane:

The highlight of the honors for Kane came from Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews, who made his first appearance in quite some time since being out with an undisclosed illness.

Fellow Blackhawks teammate Andrew Shaw also chimed in to congratulate Kane…shirtless.

Recently retired teammate, Brent Seabrook also sent his congratulations to Kane for reaching 1,000 games. Seabrook finished his playing career with 1,114 games himself, third all-time for the Blackhawks.

How’s about a Marian Hossa sighting? The Blackhawks legend and a fellow 1,000-gamer congratulated Kane on reaching the milestone and helping get the monkey off his back in 2010.

Former Blackhawks coach and orchestrator of the “One Goal” dynasty on the ice, Joel Quenneville congratulated his former pupil on reaching 1,000 games played.

Two more former stalwarts of the “One Goal” era chimed in congratulating Kane on 1,000 games. First, the player who assisted on Kane’s first-ever NHL goal, Patrick Sharp sent his wishes to Kane.

Then, human brick wall Niklas Hjalmarsson sent his best wishes from Arizona to Kane for reaching 1,000 games played.

Fellow 1,000-gamer and Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby sent his well wishes to Kane on reaching the 1,000-game mark.

Former Blackhawks goaltender and Buffalo Sabres legend Dominik Hasek had an awesome story about Kane and his Dad and congratulated Kane on his milestone accomplishment.

Aside from past and present players, Kane’s family sent their congratulations from back home in Buffalo:

And there were many, many more. The outpouring for Kane was a lot of fun to watch on a night where the action on the ice was less than fun. Let’s hope game No. 1,001 is a lot better.
