Congratulations to the Class of '24 - Independent Tribune

Today’s celebration of the Class of 2024 features the West Cabarrus, Concord and Cox Mill High Schools. We will share more from other graduations in the coming days.

West Cabarrus’ Asiah Banks said that “4 years turned to 4 semesters, then 4 months, 4 weeks, 4 days, and finally the 1 day we’ve all been waiting for. We’ve faced adversity and came out stronger. As Wolverines, we forged a unique culture and made unforgettable memories.”

Aminah Imran also spoke to her classmates at West Cabarrus, “From virtual freshman year to a triumphant senior year, the Class of 2024 faced and conquered every challenge thrown our way. We’ve made unforgettable memories and lifelong friendships. Remember, this is just the beginning — our potential is limitless.”

West Cabarrus Principal Liz Snyder says: “Class of 2024, you are the pioneers who defined how the West was won. From navigating the pandemic to achieving incredible milestones, you’ve shown resilience, hope, and the power to believe in yourselves. As you step forward into new adventures, remember: ‘The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.’ Congrats, graduates!”

Concord Principal Adam Auerbach said: “Concord High has a rich tradition of excellence in academics, athletics and more. Our theme at CHS this year was ‘Web Life’ and we wanted you all to live your best lives in all areas and most importantly, leave CHS ready for what and wherever your life takes you. Ferris Bueller had it all figured out already when he said: ‘Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.’”

Hillary Katrina Luc told her Concord peers, “Our memories are like a spider web, a giant one that we have spun together as a class, connecting with each other to make this web our home.”

Cox Mill

Big smiles filled the Cox Mill selfie before graduation at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center.

Connor Solvason told the Cox Mill senior class, “As a wise turtle once said: Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present. As you walk across this stage today, appreciate the present, and give thanks to the friends and family you are surrounded by.”

Cox Mill’s Abigail Plaisted told her peers: “Class of 2024, we’ve navigated high school through unprecedented times, showing resilience and determination. As we step into the future, let’s embrace the journey, savor each moment, and remember that the hard parts are just as valuable as the victories. Here’s to the next chapter!”

Former Cox Mill Principal Andrew Crook said, “Each of you has the potential to do extraordinary things and become successful members of our society. You would not be here today if you did not possess that potential. History has shown, that those who approach challenges and opportunities with courage always find success.”
