Golden Apple: Congratulations Mrs. Diehl! - RochesterFirst

Greece, N.Y. (WROC) — Congratulations to Lori Diehl, our latest Golden Apple Award winner!

Diehl teaches Spanish at Greece Athena Middle School. 8th Grader Colton Pecorella says, “She is a great teacher. She makes our education fun, but it is also very educational. We watch videos, listen to songs, play games. It’s all fun stuff but it’s all very good learning.”

Her ability to make learning Spanish fun is why Colton Pecorella and his mom Pam decided to nominate her for a Golden Apple Award.

Pam Pecorella says, “He always has fun in her class, and I know she deserves it. She is just a wonderful teacher. If I have a question and she doesn’t have the answer she will follow through, stay on top of it, find out and get back to me. She is beyond outstanding.

Diehl has been a Spanish teacher for 25 years and can’t imagine doing anything else.
“I think it is so much fun and I love when kids are excited to learn. We have all these jokes and songs and things that are just like fun and when they love it, it makes me really excited,” says Diehl.

Assistant Principal Jordan Holmes says, “She is just one of our biggest cheerleaders for students and staff, always going above and beyond for spirit days, holidays, getting dressed up. Her enthusiasm is infectious. She is always sending positive e-mails and communications over weekends and breaks boosting morale, out of the kindness of her heart and most importantly, the kids adore her.”
