Drs. Germaine Buck Louis, Lynn Gerber, Andrew Guccione, Jack Hadley, Rosemary Higgins, and Kathryn Jacobsen from the College of Health and Human Services were recognized by Stanford University in a recently released list of the top 2% of the most-cited scientists in various disciplines. The “exhaustive list has 1,59,683 persons” according to the abstract of the paper.  According to the authors of the database and formal comments, the database was developed to “assess scientists for career-long citation impact up until the end of 2019 and for citation impact during the single calendar year 2019 Updated databases and code are freely available in Mendeley (https://dx.doi.org/10.17632/btchxktzyw)The formal comments, including information on the methodology for the database can be found here.

Other Mason faculty also are listed.  The most current version of the database can also be found in https://ift.tt/3oENzJD, and any subsequent updates that might appear in the future will be generally accessible in https://dx.doi.org/10.17632/btchxktzyw.

“As scientists, refereed publications help advance the needle on the science and they become a part of one’s living legacy – with citations continuing even after retirement.  Databases such as these reinforce that bibliometrics are increasingly being used in various ways to assess impact,” says Dean Germaine Louis.
