Tyson Fury sent his congratulations to Natasha Jonas, who became WBO super-welterweight with a win over Chris Namus.

Jonas claimed her world title at the third time of asking with a convincing second-round knockout of Namus.

Jonas was streets ahead of her opponent

The fight began with Jonas boxing well on the back foot and picking off Namus at will.

Then, at the end of the opening round, the Brit unleashed a huge one-two combination and floored the Uruguayan heavily.

She made it back to her feet and just about survived the round.

At the start of round two, Namus was floored again and her corner got ready to throw in the towel.

She recovered to her feet and appealed to them not to do so, only for the referee to wave the fight off regardless.

It’s a huge moment in Jonas’ career and Fury was first in the queue to congratulate her and trainer Joe Gallagher.

“You boxed brilliantly, all the best, God bless.”

Jonas’ victory came before the main event at Manchester’s AO Arena, which saw Kell Brook beat Amir Khan by technical knockout.

Elsewhere, Frazer Clarke won on his professional debut, while Viddal Riley beat Willbeforce Shihepo on points.
